Nothing but problemsI am a big fan of Cisco products and had several previous versions of the Linksys router. However, the 160N is substandard.

My computer is approximately 10 feet away from my 160N, and it loses signal at least once an hour. At the same time, my computer is able to see all of the other wireless routers in my neighborhood.

However, my 160N died today. No more wireless signal - and it's only been 2 months since I bought it. For the first time in years, I am looking at an altnernative that is not Cisco.

Great little boxThis little box gives you a number of things...I have it hooked up to my receiver so we can watch Netflix movies or or listen to Pandora radio. The signal comes over the HDMI cable as a CD 44.1khz signal For Pandora or 720pHD signal for Netflix. My internet connection speed is 3mbs or so and seems completely adequate although if someone else is web browsing while watching a movie, it slows down a bit. These two alone are worth the price of the box, just go to your queue on your computer, add instant movies and watch them anytime. Remember, there is no monthly subscription. Ease of installation is good but you have to go to your computer to load Netflix movies or add a radio station with Pandora. Overall, a great way to add versatility to watch movies on the big screen and get music played on your surround sound system.

Amazing little box!This little black box is an amazing thing. It is a great price, sets up simply and works perfectly. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to use it wirelessly, despite it's claims. I didn't want to have constant skipping and reloading while I was watching something. I have used this every day for about a month now and it has NEVER skipped. My router is not nearby either-it's upstairs. The box is so small that I can just stick it behind the tv, on top of my tv's wall mount; I don't even have to wire the cord through my walls. The remote works fine with the box hidden out of sight. I purchased the MLB package for my husband and he is thrilled. My kids love the option of being able to select a Netflix movie instantly instead of waiting for it to come in the mail. It's so nice to see a well-priced product that does what it says!

Received two DIR-655 DOAI ordered the DIR-655 based on the positive reviews it received on Amazon. I have received two units from Amazon and both have been dead on arrival. I spent about 20 minutes on each unit working with D-Link tech support. I found it interesting that the two technicians tried totally different solutions. Regardless, they could not get a TCPIP Ping to work so they declared my units defective. This was my first and last D-Link purchase. Back to Linksys.

You don't need thisThere is another option to get internet to your blu-ray! I used my old wireless router as wireless access point in my living room. Then you can run a cat-5 cable to your blu-ray, TV, etc. Much better than $80 for this.

Hardware is good; software -- not so muchThe vendor-supplied software wasn't as functional as I'd like; limited use of the available storage space, reduced configuration and so on.

The ease of installing the dd-wrt software was ridiculously easy. The only problem relates to the design of the 'reset' button. The third-party software installation requires extended (90 seconds!) pressing-time on the reset button -- two or three times during the process. The button is difficult to hold for that length of time.

But that's probably a good thing, because it means the settings don't easily get wiped by accident.

The other problem I had was with one of the antenna mounts -- the post the antenna screws-down on, that exits the body of the device: One was loose, and not affixed well. It floated in a way that didn't make me comfortable. A drop or two of cyanoacrylate glue ('Super Glue') easily fixed it, but that's not something I think I would need to do right-out-of-the-box. Points off for that.

One design suggestion: I'd like to see mounting holes on the bottom so one could easily wall-mount this device. As it is, the footprint takes up usable space on my desk.

Good wireless router, though. I like it.
