OK for simple use. Bad for anything moreI purchased this router to replace the D-Link that I was using before it died. Not knowing much about router hardware, I figured that this one would just work as my previous Linksys and D-Link routers before it.

This nice little router will do the trick for anyone wanting wireless capability for simple use in a small area. What is simple use? I consider simple use to be browsing the web and checking email while only 1-2 computers are in use at the same time. I consider a bedroom or home office to be a small area. Once outside those areas, performance will degrade dramatically.

I am not a simple user. I use a wireless router for my PC, HTPC, Notebook, PSP and Android. I've noticed that it takes a while for wireless connections to be established when they in fact, happen. They sometimes fail that and I'll have to manually restart the process. I've noticed that this router's hardware simply cannot deal with too many connections such as when using torrents. Things come to a crawl when sufficient torrent activity is occuring. I can barely get to a website when that happens. Pages often cannot be displayed.

After much research, I've determined that this router SUCKS for power users due to it's pitiful amount of system ram and slow processor. For my purposes, I have given this router a rating of two because although it works, it performs badly when maximum internet activity is occurring. I have just purchased something much more powerful to compensate: A 64mb Buffalo Nfinity router. I can't wait to get and flash it :)

In conclusion, this router will work just fine and will be a super bargain for a casual user in a small area but don't expect it to do anything more. It simply will not.

Why apple prevents other applications from streaming the audio to the airtunes module is probably a dictatorship topic once more. Oh well. I heard the boxes break after two years but cannot tell yet. Flaking out after a short period of timeI started out happy with the device. Added it to network an existing XBOX (running MythTV) and a new Sony BluRay to the same port in the living room. Everything worked great for a few months, and now I'm having trouble with both the XBOX talking to the server in the basement, and the BluRay watching Netflix. Take the switch out and connect one or the other and the problems seem to go away. Wouldn't think the cables suddenly went bad.

The Hawking HWREN1 Hi-Gain Wireless-300N Range Extender works FANTASTIC!

It's been 3 months using this product and I highly recommend it. I have a Netgear Range-Max Duo Wireless-N WNDR3300 Router it is connected with and I have read, to get this expander to work best you will need a Dual/Duo N wireless router; I do and it does work Great!!! My router is in a separate building in front of the property and the house now has no dead spots with this product, so now I am going to buy another one so it will be max bars everywhere inside and around the outside of my house. Poolside work... here we come!

Not Good, BadI have purchased two of these things. The first one worked perfectly for about two months and then it stopped working completely. The second one worked sporadically from day one. I bought this for my grandparents hoping to give them the wondrous capability to surf the web from where ever they were in their house. Unfortunately all they got was a bunch of tech visits from me. It never worked longer than forty eight hours. Eventually I just got sick of trying to get it working and I returned it with no hassle. I like Lynksys, but this product is just not worth it. You get what you pay for, I payed for cheap, I got cheap. If I were you, I'd probably go with one of their newer more reliable models.

Do not buy this router.This is a terrible piece of junk. I purchased the router 2 months ago and it's given me too much grief. Each time I've attempted to waste hours of my day trying to explain to the online tech support folks that a) I'm not an idiot and I know how to install this router. b) asking me question after question that leads to the same result. c) them asking me to try to set it up again and me explaining that if I do that, we will lose OUR connection because the only way I'm connected to the internet is through a hard-wire at the moment.

Please do not waste your time with this modem. It is junk. Buy a more reliable brand. Linksys support is weak and unhelpful. The modem is cheaply made.

All I wanted to do was to get a replacement. They make it VERY difficult. In the end, I just threw it away and bought one made by NETGEAR. It works fine
